More than 400 people participated in the “Framing our Future” workshop, the first round of engagement for the Comprehensive Plan.

Participants were asked to complete two activities. The first asked about what people loved or treasured in Overland Park and what challenges might exist in the community.

Parks and open spaces, destinations like Downtown, and the overall sense of community were a few treasures identified. While housing options, roadway maintenance, and redevelopment represent a few of the challenges.

The second activity asked participants to identify locations in the City that were opportunities for the future. Places like Downtown, Brookridge Golf Course, the Arboretum, Johnson County Community College and others were revealed as assets to the community.
